ELBA Candidates Forum
East Lincoln Betterment Association will host its Candidates Forum on Tuesday, April 3. The forum will include candidates that will be in the May 8 Primary and give the community an opportunity to meet them and hear what they have to say in a debate type program.
The event is at Unity Presbyterian Church in the Fellowship Hall. It includes a BBQ dinner at 6 followed by the debate at 7 p.m.
Fourth Monday Forum
The next Fourth Monday Forum will be on March 26. This meeting will be at 7 p.m. at Unity Presbyterian Church. This forum will not include candidates’ presentations, but will focus on the candidates in the upcoming primary along with issues as they relate to our community.
Anyone is invited to attend.
MOMs consignment sale
Lake Norman Mothers of Multiples will hold its Annual Spring Consignment Sale on Saturday, March 24, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Brawley Middle School in Mooresville.
The cash only sale includes gently used children’s and maternity clothing, toys and baby equipment.
Early bird admission from 7 to 8 a.m. is $1. The half price sale starts at 11:30 a.m.
Lake Norman Mothers of Multiples is a nonprofit group supporting mothers of twins, triplets and higher order multiples from pregnancy to school-aged children.
Community blood drives
There will be a Community Blood Center blood drive on March 26 at Sally’s YMCA. The blood drive will be held at the 1601 Forney Creek Pkwy. from 4:30-7:30 p.m.
CBCC is a non-profit community-based blood center and is the primary blood supplier to 19 regional hospitals.
Insurance help available
The Seniors’ Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) is a consumer information division of the North Carolina Department of Insurance that assists people with Medicare, Medicare Part D, Medicare supplements, Medicare Advantage, and long-term care insurance questions.
The organization helps citizens recognize and prevent Medicare billing errors and possible fraud and abuse through the NCSMP Program. If you have questions, call NC Cooperative Extension at 704-736-8461.
