Adriene Reavis named to state All-Star Soccer Team
East Lincoln High School coach Jason Dragoon announced that Adriene Reavis was named to the All-State Soccer Team by the North Carolina Soccer Coaches Association. She finished her high school career as the all-time leading goal scorer at ELHS with 62 goals and holds a single season record with 28 goals scored after an outstanding senior season. She also had 14 assists in her senior season which accounts for 42 of the 62 goals the Lady Mustangs scored this year or nearly 68 percent of the Mustang offensive production.
Reavis is the third Lady Mustang to be named to the All-State Team. She has been part of the Mustang record of 44-4 in conference play over her four years at ELHS. In the last two years, she has scored 52 of her 62 goals and helped the team achieve a 22-2 conference record. This year, the team won a championship. The two losses were to Lake Norman Charter in overtime.
“She is one of the best leaders on and off the field that I have ever coached,” said Coach Dragoon. “She is well-respected by her teammates, classmates, and teachers. She has helped move the soccer program at East to a completely new level of soccer through her positive attitude, relentless commitment to training and unselfish and humble character.
In addition to her accolades on the soccer field, Adriene is a leader of the Dream Team at ELHS and the Senior Class president. She plans to attend UNC at Chapel Hill.
“I’m so very proud of all she has accomplished,” said Dragoon, “and thankful to have had the opportunity to work with her as a student and player. She has taught me a lot about the potential of young people…”
